Gallery 310 at Marietta College aims to present diverse and stimulating exhibitions, which will enrich the artistic culture and education of the campus, community, and region.  Gallery 310 supports teaching, learning, and exploration of the liberal arts through rotating exhibitions and related programs.  The Gallery intends to showcase pieces from Marietta College’s permanent collection, as well as borrowed works from emerging and established artists.

Gallery 310 is a place for intellectual curiosity, shared programming with the greater campus community, and a teaching space for students looking to enhance their experience for future careers in the gallery and museum-related fields.

Testimonials

The quality of exhibitions – are comparable to that offered at well-established museums with greater resources. This is not an easy task considering the long periods of time (months and sometimes years) and the expertise in best practices required to plan and execute professional and engaging exhibitions.”
— Edward E. Pauley Director, Kennedy Museum of Art Ohio University
The world-class exhibitions curated and installed by Professor Powell provide an opportunity for reflection which can serve as sources of inspiration for students and faculty alike. Works by contemporary artists, such as Carrie Mae Weems and Adrienne Tarver provide opportunities for students and the neighboring community to engage in conversations about a range of topics.
— Robert Howsare Chair of Art & Design Department, West Virginia Wesleyan College
As a student who hailed from a deeply rural Appalachian community, I had very little access to the arts in my early years and did not fully understand the importance of pieces such as that displayed by Gallery 310 until I interacted with them as a young adult the context of a more mature understanding of the world around me. Gallery 310 provided a safe, welcoming space for me to engage with challenging pieces and begin to introspectively examine the biases, prejudices, and identities that I brought with me to college.
— Leah Seaman , Marietta College Studio Art class of 2021
